Woodlawn Cemetery

I went to the local cemetery to try out black & white photography and to practice with composition and contrast.

It certainly carries a lot of symbolism when you’re spending the last day of the year at the last resting place. And it was a very peaceful place and a great place to reflect back on the year and on life in general. Needless to say, in the end (and as evident in the very few presentable photos I came up with) I spent more time combing through the tombstones trying to imagine what kind of life the people buried there had. Whatever they were, I hope they really do rest in peace.
